I am often asked about the relationship between the City of Newark and the Newark Chamber of Commerce. The City and the Chamber are not the same organization. We have cultivated an excellent partnership and we work collaboratively for the betterment of the City.

AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK AMENDING CHAPTER 8.32 (SMOKING IN PUBLIC AND WORK PLACES) OF THE NEWARK MUNICIPAL CODE TO TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY. This Urgency Ordinance is in effect until the official ordinance is passed at the second reading scheduled for the July 12 City Council Meeting.

The Newark City Council recently approved changes to the Municipal Code involving Alarms, Activations, and Fines. These changes will take effect on July 1, 2007.
