The Alameda County Waste Management Authority (also known as StopWaste.org) is sharing information about the new Reusable Bag Ordinance that affects certain retailers in Alameda County. Beginning January 1, 2013, stores that sell packaged foods can no longer provide single-use plastic bags at checkout. Stores may provide bags made of recycled paper or reusable bags for a minimum price of 10 cents per bag, and consumers will be strongly encouraged to bring their own bags. |

The City of Newark, as with all other cities, has ordinances that regulate the types of business signs allowed, their size, quantity, and location. These regulations provide for the orderly construction, location, placement, size and maintenance of commercial signage. |
