One of your Chamber benefits is tapping into the services offered by SCORE, “Counselors to America's Small Business”. This national all-volunteer organization of active and retired business managers, owners, and executives, with experience in a wide variety of business disciplines, is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
SCORE business counselors volunteer their time and expertise to provide free and confidential business advice and mentoring. The SCORE Counselor for the Newark Chamber of Commerce is Mr. Gene Page whose background includes both individual and corporate level business experience. Gene is available for one-on-one counseling at the Newark Chamber office on Tuesday afternoons by appointment. The session is free to Chamber members as well as anyone either in business or considering starting a business.
In addition, SCORE's Website has a wealth of information and hotlinks to help entrepreneurs. SCORE also offers business counseling through the web site. You can visit the web site and go to E-Mail Counseling; then, just enter keywords about a business topic or problem and an online skills database will retrieve mini-resumes of SCORE Counselors. You pick the counselor that you think is a good match and e-mail your question. It's just as simple as that.
